Guaranteed Admissions Program
Qualifying North Thurston Public Schools seniors can receive guaranteed admission to several Washington colleges and universities through our Guaranteed Admissions Program. In order to participate, families (or students over 18) must opt into sharing their data with institutions.
What schools are participating?
- Central Washington University (minimum GPA 3.0)
- Eastern Washington University (minimum GPA 3.0)
- The Evergreen State College (minimum GPA 2.5)
- Pacific Lutheran University (minimum GPA 3.3)
- St. Martin's University (minimum GPA 3.3)
- Washington State University (minimum GPA 3.0 or top 10% of class)
- Western Washington University (minimum GPA 3.0)
- University of Washington—Tacoma (minimum GPA 3.0)
If a student meets or is on track to meet the criteria by graduation, they are guaranteed admission to the institution.
How do I opt into the program?
- Meet minimum GPA and course requirements (College Academic Distribution Requirements, or CADRs) Download CADR info from WSAC (PDF)
- Opt in to release contact information to these institutions by logging into Skyward Family Access (under online forms) or fill out a paper form.
- Once opted-in, student data to determine eligibility will be released to the participating institutions.
What happens next?
Guardians for whom email is provided will be contacted first by the institution. The student letter will follow two weeks after the family emails are sent. The letters detail next steps and responsibilities for students and families.
Do students still need to apply to the institution once accepted?
Yes, students interested in attending must still complete an application for admission once notified of their guaranteed admissions status. There may be further requirements from the institution regarding admissions, and students should continue to engage in challenging high school coursework and maintain their high school GPA during their senior year.
